Happy Friday Ladies! I hope everyone is doing well post holidays! I love satire news sites. This attached satire article from The Onion caught my eye. At first it was comical. Ultimately I found it sad because the satire is very real.
There were many years when I had great intentions on January 1st. I was so motivated. I’d get myself to the gym and mosey on over to the free weight side. Maybe pick up a dumbbell and do a few curls. Then realize I had no idea what to do or how to do it. Within 5 minutes I’d find myself on an elliptical or treadmill. I was intimidated by everyone else who seemed to know exactly what they were doing. I felt out of the place and in the way. I had no idea what I was doing.
So back to my comfort zone I’d go. Back to elliptical purgatory. Sure, I’d get my heart rate up doing cardio…but there was no plan. The only thing I knew is that I wanted to lose weight. Unfortunately, I had no idea how to lose it. It’s frustrating how many people shy away from weight training because they’re scared.
You can see this pattern frequently in commercial gyms during January. It’s sad because there’s people who are willing to put in the work. They just don’t know what to do.
That’s why I started Fit Girl Fitness. That’s why I only offer small group instructor led classes. That’s why I promote Fitness, Nutrition, Accountability and Community as a package. I pride myself in making FGF a place where all people can thrive. In short, we’re a place where everyone can get healthier no matter where they are on their fitness journey.
If your intentions are good but lack the knowledge to execute, I can help. Don’t be discouraged like the poor soul in the attached article. I can be contacted by email at [email protected] or you can visit my website at www.fitgirlfit.com
