I’ve always enjoyed being active and exercising. Since entering adulthood, I’ve taken several group fitness classes, trained with heavy weights and even taught my own cardio dance classes. As a child, I played softball, and now I play in an adult volleyball league. After college, I married my husband and started working as a special education teacher until I had my daughter in 2013. After that, I stayed home with my son and daughter and was introduced to a fun cardio dance class in 2016. I never really danced and thought I didn’t have any rhythm, but, after attending multiple classes, I caught on to the moves and have been hooked ever since! Cardio exercise was always something I considered to be rather boring. The treadmill can be a real drag, but cardio dance makes time fly! I was given the opportunity to teach my own cardio dance and tone class until my gym closed in 2022. I currently hold a Group Fitness and Bootcamp Instruction certificate from the American Sports and Fitness Association. I’m excited to meet other women who are focused on their health and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the Fit Girl Fitness tribe!
Although I’ve always liked going to the gym and being active, I never really understood how important exercise is when it comes to managing my mood. Stress and anxiety are real and can sometimes feel overwhelming. Maintaining positive mental health is a priority for me in a world that sometimes feels chaotic. Even if it’s just a walk around the block or 20 minutes of lifting weights, consistency is key for me to be my best self. I hope to inspire others to do the same.
I’ve always been a natural motivator and coach. I like to see others succeed and hope to help others on their fitness journeys. I’m also a great listener and easy to talk to, so don’t be shy! My family, friends and children inspire and motivate me to model positive body image and good fitness habits. There is not a time in my future when I don’t see myself lifting weights, staying active and making my health a priority. I want to be surrounded by others who want to make their health a priority as well. It’s so important for women to incorporate weight training into their lives as they age, and the Fit Girl Fitness studio is the place for women in all stages of life. I’m grateful to be part of a positive fitness community and look forward to all the great workouts in the future!
